_To Mr. Given and his brother‑in‑law Mr. Wm Van Wyck who lived next door we are indebted for the largest elm trees in the Village of Fishkill._

_James Given: A ruling elder in this church In August 1816 he formed the Sunday‑school and was its Supaintendent [sic] until his death for 46 years.

A man of spotless integrity, warm affections, and unusual public spirit a sincere Christian. He filled up his long and laborious life with usefulness to his family ‑ the place ‑ and the church.
